Region Six Show Update

This year, the Region Six Breed Show will be held back- to- back with The Region Six USDF Open Dressage Show, July 23-25^th at Mt Holyoke College in South Hadley Ma.

Breed and opportunity classes will be offered on Friday and Saturday, July 23 and 24^th.,

The Working Equitation Competition, which is open to all horses (Iberian and Non Iberian) is scheduled on Saturday, July 24^th. More information on this new and exciting competition will be posted to this site soon.

The Open dressage show will commence on Sunday, July 25^th, and offer tests from intro through FEI. Scores are qualifying for the Region 8 GAIG championships. This is the first time that we have offered an open dressage competition, and if the inquiries are any indication of attendance, we will be full!

In addition to three days of classes, there will be an assortment of informational seminars and presentations offered throughout the show. Topics to include, but not limited to; How to Braid the Iberian, The Pros and Cons of Choosing The Iberian Horse for Dressage, Presenting the Horse on the Triangle, Proper Show Ring Attire, Long Lining, and Working Equitation.

Evening festivities begin on Thursday, with a welcome reception, followed by two presentations focusing on Showing your Iberian in-hand.

Friday evening the annual BBQ dinner and Social, begins @ 6.00 pm.

We’ll kick off Saturday evening’s events with a performance (not to be missed) by the New York dance company, Dancing With Horses. This show features four modern dancers with an array of beautiful dressage horses, in 6 sets of dances. The performance will be followed by the Parade of Breeds. We will conclude the evening activities with a Tapas Party, where we will draw the name of the lucky winner of the 50/50 Raffle. There is a possible cash prize of 5000.00! If you haven’t purchased your tickets, it’s not too late-there are still some left! With only 200 tickets printed, the odds are in your favor!
